A sign of the changing times: the
Delaware Department of Education is in the process
of setting content standards in the field of the Media
Arts. Our initiative is working on a number of
programs to help K-12 students, teachers and administrators
take better advantange of the opportunities of educational
technology and the media arts.
Not only do we recognize that work
in this field is increasingly vital to helping
our next generations become competitive in the global
workforce, our goal is also to foster creative
expression and a better understanding of oneself and
others, using media as the primary tool.
Here are some ways we plan to do so
with our wonderful partners...
Media Arts Summer Institute
for K-12 Teachers
DOE-supported media training seminar
to inspire teachers to get creative and acquire
skills in media production and analysis. Ongoing
support is provided through follow-up sessions and
an online community meeting place.
